CORSAGE 01: Pale Itoh Peony

$30.00

Itoh peonies, sometimes called intersectional peonies, are a hybrid of herbaceous and tree peonies. They are named after Toichi Itoh, a Japanese horticulturalist who first developed them in the 1960s. I am fortunate enough to grow them in pale and neon pinks and yellow and an almost orange.

This one was grown here at my black dirt farmhouse, photographed, laminated, and cut to make a large pin, brooch, boutonniere, or corsage. There is a double center that makes it slightly three-dimensional with a stainless steel lapel pin fastener. Measures around 6 inches in diameter.

I will be making these corsages of different flowers from my garden all summer, all in editions of ten. They will all be signed, dated, and numbered.
