This John James Audubon painting of a Brown Pelican, Plate 421 from his Birds of America, has been decoupaged onto an antique German dessert plate with original brown luster. 

6” x .5” x 6”

Birds of America was printed between 1827 and 1838 and there are four Pelicans counted among the 436 life-sized watercolors of North American birds. This decoupaged plate is the second of four, one of each of Audubon’s pelicans.
