This painting, circa 1780, comes from an album made for Claude Martin, a Frenchman in the service of Nawab Asaf ud-Daula and the East India Company in Lucknow, India. The watercolor is in the collection of The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City but is not currently on view.
