Anthony Thieme was a Dutch artist born in Rotterdam in 1888. Thieme moved to America in 1922 and became a stage designer at the Century Theater in New York, designing sets for the Russian ballerina Anna Pavlova. Thieme spent most of his life as a landscape and marine painter who always painted en plain air. He traveled widely and eventually settled in Rockport, Massachusetts. He committed suicide in 1954. 

Catalda was a dealer and producer of lithographs in New York City in the 1950s.
